The Owyhee Off-Road Challenge 55k Ultra is a loop course that will allow runners to enjoy great panorama vistas from the top of the Owyhees to the rarely seen intimate canyon and river views of the Eastern Oregon high desert region. Details
- All participants will receive a hand-crafted finishers medal and a long-sleeve Leslie Jordan tech shirt.
- All proceeds and donations go towards the purchase of equipment for the new track for the Adrian School District and community and to support Adrian youth programs.
Time Limit:
- There is a 10 hour time limit to complete the course. Please consider this prior to registering.

*Total elevation gain is 4,850 feet. The highest elevations are reached between 16 - 18 miles when participants will run the rim overlooking Lake Owyhee.

OORC 55k Details
Required:
- 40 oz bottle(s) / pack. Some Aid stations will not give cups and there are many miles between some stations.
- Race Bib: Must show race bib at manned aid stations
Recommended:
- Head lamp. Sunrise is at 7:40 so a headlamp is recommended. Put your race number / name on your lamp and drop it at an aid station.
- Warm clothes / wind breaker. Temperatures could be below freezing and the wind could be howling at some of the higher elevations / ridge lines.
- Sun Glasses, hat, and long sleeves
- Camera for some great pictures of the desert and the lake
Gear check will be available near the start/finish line so you don’t have to carry your keys on the course or so you have post race items readily available once you cross the finish line.
Note about gear on the course: Gear can be dropped at aid stations, however you may finish the race earlier than the gear gets returned to the start line. All gear left is at the risk of the runner. We will do our best to return everything as quickly as we can to the start of the race. Put your name and bib number on all gear.
Drop Bag: You can leave a small drop bag at the beginning of the race. Put your name and bib number on it. Drop bags will be available at aid station U5: Mile 23.
Pacers: Pacers will be allowed to join their racers at aid station U5, (mile 23), which is accessible by paved road. We request that pacers do their best to not act as mules and carry their own supplies.

- Gels include GU Energy Gels and Skratch Energy Chews there may be a mix of options at stations with Gels. Some items may be available at one Gel station, but not at another.

Aid Station will be on left on Owyhee Tunnel Rd (Watch for signs)
Cut Off times:
Race Director Privileges: The director or anyone appointed by her can remove any person from the course for any reason. Please do not cut the course, litter, start any fires (including smoking), doing anything considered dangerous to yourself or others, or violating health protocols. Disrespectful or unsportsmanlike language or conduct, regardless of who it is directed towards, is not tolerated. Runners may be removed if the race director / appointee believes there is a health concern that would put the runner or others at risk, including falling significantly behind pace.
- Ultra Aid Station 3 (U3) (Above the lake, mile 17) - 12:00 PM MDT, 5 hours
- U5 (Pavement, mile 23.5) - 2:00 PM MDT, 7 hours.
- Finish line, 5:00 PM MDT, 10 hours.
- Cut-off times are implemented to ensure volunteers are available to assist runners on the course.
